DRAWING OF COPPER WIRE IN AN ULTRASONIC FIELD,

Abstract

When drawing in an ultrasonic field a copper wire with a diameter of about 1.6 mm. with compres sion of about 36.5%, the force of drawing decreases almost twofold in comparison with the force, obtained during the drawing of a similar wire under ordinary conditions. Ultimate strength and microhardness in the copper wire, drawn in an ultrasonic field from a diameter of 1.57 mm to a diameter of 1.25 mm (compression of about 36.5%) are approximately 15% lower than in a similar wire, drawn undinary conditions.
