CRITICAL INDUSTRY REPAIR ANALYSIS. ELECTRIC POWER.

Abstract

In general, the vulnerability studies indicate that the critical blast-damage levels for the hydroelectric facilities would be higher than those for the steam plant. Similarly, fallout hazards would be less serious at the hydroelectric plant than at the steam plant. Thermal radiation is not a major structural factor at any of the plants under consideration. The plant studies agree that production at most facilities would be interrupted by flying glass at blast overpressures within the range of 0.1 to 1.0 psi. (Author)
