PROPOSED ACCEPTANCE TEGRAM FOR ARMY ARTI FICIAL HEART PUMP, MODEL 1,

Abstract

Thirteen preproduction models of the Army Arti ficial eart Pump, Model 1, were subjected to an acceptance test program designed to insure that the pumps operate as required. Each of the pumps satisfied the requirements set forth as a first approximation. For the frequency-flow-rate tests, the maximum deviations from the group average frequencies and flow rates were 9 cycles per minute and 0.1 liter per minute, respectively. The standard deviations were 5 cycles per minute or less and less than 0.1 liter per minute. In the filling-pressure response tests, the maximum deviations were 7 cycles per minute and 0.2 liter per minute; the standard deviations were 4 cycles per minute or less and under 0.1 liter per min ute. It is recommended that the proposed accept ance test program be used to evaluate production models. (Author)
