A LOGISTICS PERFORMANCE INDEX,

Abstract

This paper introduces a simple performance index for use as a 'figure of merit' or 'over-all meas ure of effectiveness' for particular means of accomplishing a given operation. A special linear form of the general index is developed in detail and its application is illustrated for two cases: transportation to support overseas deployments and submarine repair parts inventory -4ems.
