INSPECTION OF NEOPRENE COATINGS APPLIED TO HYDRO FOIL ASSEMBLIES OF HYDROFOIL CRAFT HIGH POINT (PC(H)-1).

Abstract

This report describes the condition of the cavi tation - erosion resistant neoprene coating, Laboratory formulation ML-C570, after prelimin ary and builders trials of the PC(H)-1 during May 1963. This coating had been applied to the foils, struts, rudders and flaps of the PC(H)-1. The neoprene coating applied to the epoxy smoother material used in isolated areas of the coated structures, showed very high adhesive strength, exceeding the adhesive strength to bare steel.
