EVALUATION OF COCKPIT VOICE RECORDERS.

Abstract

Laboratory and flight tests were conducted during the evaluation of cockpit voice recorders. The cockpit voice recorder is an aecording sys tem for use in recording airplane crew conversa tions during flight operations under high ambient noise conditions. Tests included measurements of electrical performance, intelligibility, and cap abilities of the recording medium to survive a crash environment. (Author)
