IONIZATION AND DE-IONIZATION IN THE LOWER IONOSPHERE

Abstract

A body of information pertaining to ionization and de-ionization in the lower ionosphere was compiled from various sources. Part of the data was derived from studies of geophysical observations, part of it from published and unpub lished laboratory measurements, and part from other ionospheric studies. Models of lower ionospheric processes were prepared which are consistent with presently available data from these sources.
