ON EXAMINATION OF AN ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATOR,

Abstract

The author designed and erected an electrostatic precipitator with a view to collect exhaustively a large amount of dust in the atmosphere to make a radio-chemical analysis, and took an experimental measurement of collection effi ciency. The observed value of collection efficiency by a set of three electrostatic precipitators in series connection in the test was 73.9 percent, which showed an approxi mate aggrement with the computed value of 75.8 percent for a dust particle with mean diameter of 0.2 micron.(Author)
