RECOVERY OF PETROLEUM REFINERIES CONTAMINATED BY FALLOUT

Abstract

The present study deals with the petroleum refinery industry. The case studied is that in which a given refinery is contaminated by radioactive fallout from one or more nuclear detonations occurring essentially simultaneously at some distance so that the refinery is not damaged by blast or fire. Recommendations are made that would reduce the effects of such attacks on oil refineries and expedite their recovery.
