STRUCTURAL INVESTIGATIONS OF ORGANOSILYLETHYLENEDIAMINE POLYMERS.

Abstract

The polymers which are formed by the reaction of ethylenediamine and dimethyldichlorosilane are investigated by NMR methods. These polymers consist of a mixture of linear and cyclic units in a ratio of about 1:2. By heating the polymers to about 300 C or by reaction with ethylenediamine polymers with a higher ratio of the linear polymer was not obtained even by reaction with an excess of ethylenediamine.
