A STUDY OF ENGINE SIMULATION METHODS FOR OPERATIONAL FLIGHT TRAINERS.

Abstract

Presented is a summary of the results, conclusions, and recommendations which were derived from a study of engine simulation methods for Operational Flight Trainers (OFT's). The results of the study are: a proposed method of engine simulation based on theoretical equations; analyses of methods of generating functions of one and two variables; a method of twovariable function generator design using an analog computer; function generator design formulas for specified error tolerances; a method for calculating the propagation of errors through an OFT system; and a discussion of present methods of engine simulation.
