UNIFORMLY CONVERGENT APPROXIMATE SOLUTIONS OF FREDHOLM INTEGRAL EQUATIONS,

Abstract

A method of successive approximations is presented for the solution of Fredholm integral equations of the second kind, g(x) - the definite integral from 0 to 1 K(x,y) g(y) dy=h(x), x belongs to closed interval from 0 to 1. The method is related to but is more efficient than the classical approach in which numerical integration is used in order to replace the integral equation by a system of algebraic linear equations.
