DEVELOPMENT OF EXPECTED NOISE SPECTRA, SIREN PROGRAMMING TECHNIQUES, AND EXPERIMENT PLANS FOR THE ASD SONIC FATIGUE FACILITY.

Abstract

The ASD Sonic Fatigue Facility affords the opportunity for a fully-coordinated program of sonic fatigue research. In preparation for such a program a study was conducted to establish future acoustic and pseudo-acoustic spectra, to develop optimum programming techniques for the sirens, and to plan a set of correlated research experiments. Results of a literature and industry survey are given in prediction of future spectra. Analytical and analog-computer results of the siren-programming study are given in detail for AM, FM, and AM/FM operational modes. The experiments are summarized, but detail is omitted. (Author)
