FREQUENCY CONVERTER UNITS FOR L-BAND, S-BAND, C-BAND AND X-BAND.
Abstract
Impedance and VSWR measurements were made of various types of crystal cartridges in a Sage holder. Values of VSWR in excess of 10:1 were observed in the band 0.5 to 11 Gc. A design of the high-pass filter for the L-band converter using rectangular waveguide was built and tested. The precise tolerance required in the width of the waveguide was not maintained; as a result, the increase in attenuation with decrease in frequency was not as large as required. The VSWR of the device was good. The first model of the band-pass filter for the L-band converter was built and tested.
