RADIO FREQUENCY COMPATIBILITY (RFC) ACCESSORY EQUIPMENT SET.
Abstract
Research concerns a study leading to a design plan for accessory equipment to be used with radio interference measuring sets and signal generators. The accessory equipment includes the complementary devices necessary to determine radio frequency interference characteristics of U. S. Army electrical and electronic equipment in accordance with military specification MIL-I-11748. The frequency range of interest is 0.014 to 40,000 mc. Also under investigation are a receiver input coupler and an audio susceptibility tester. Tests and test setups for performing the various measurements are discussed and outlined in block diagram form. Emphasis is placed on the accessory items required for the design plan for the radio frequency compatibility accessory set. Various types of dummy loads are discussed. A cross section of commercially available medium and high power dummy loads is presented as a result of correspondence with many manufacturers of these devices. (Author)
