A COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF THE FORMABILITY OF TUNGSTEN PLATE AND SHEET BY SPINNING TECHNIQUES.
Abstract
This program endeavors to establish the relationship between the fabrication history, physical properties, and spinning characteristic of tungsten sheet and plate. Three sources for the tungsten material have been established as: Fansteel Metallurgical Company, General Electric Company, and Metallwerk Plansee. Fansteel tungsten sheet and plate have been received; sample preparations from the sheet stock have begun. Tooling design and manufacture for spinning tests and workability tests are in process.
