DETERMINATION OF ROCK CONDUCTIVITY FROM VLFPROPAGATION MEASUREMENTS,

Abstract

The conductivity of a homogeneous dissipative medium can be determined from measurements of the field strength of a magnetic dipole operated in this medium at a very low frequency. As is shown by calculations, the limited measurement accuracy of experimental equipment requires mini mum measurement distances r min to get reasonable results. The r min is calculated as a function of frequency and conductivity and compared with experimental datas. (Author)
