ATTENUATION IN SUBSURFACE SIGNAL TRANSMISSION,

Abstract

For the determination of ground conductivity from field strength measurements of VLF-transmitters, the respective attenuation factors of sky waves and surface waves must be taken into account. These factors were calculated for a wide range of frequencies and conductivities. If field strengths in various depths are measured, the value of ground conductivity can be read out from tables and diagrams given. (Author)
