X-BAND TUBE-AND-CAVITY-COMBINATION OSCILLATOR.

Abstract

Research concerns the development of a very low-drain, light-weight, small-size, CW-oscillator package for X-band applications. A probe having an internal resistor was developed to permit grid bias operation without objectionable squegging. A simplification of cavity design and use of aluminum instead of brass have reduced the total weight of the oscillator to 1.12 ounces. Additional dynamic life data indicate the present low-heater-power design should meet technical objectives. (Author)
