GEMINI LAUNCH VEHICLE ELECTRICAL POWER DATA REPORT.

Abstract

The aerospace ground equipment power supply requirements for support of the YLR87-AJ-5 rocket engines are presented. The sequence of the aerospace ground equipment power consumption at 115 and 440v ac is primarily determined by thermostatically controlled heater loads. These heater loads are dependent upon ambient temperature. Therefore, the use of this power from ARM to FS2 + 8 hr will be dependent upon weather conditions. The power requirements for airborne YLR87-AJ-5 and YLR91-AJ-5 rocket engines (both ground and airborne supplied) are presented. The rocket engines do not contain electrical loads requiring continuous power input. Electrical power inputs are only required to start and shut down the engines. The required sequence of power input signals and the nature of the electrical loads are presented in detail. Only 28v dc (nominal) power is required for operation of these engines. (Author)
