Abstract

This report presents a description of work covering engineering support for the RJ43 production engines. An ignition demonstration was successfully conducted on storage engine Serial MA-E10011-2 following two years of readystorage. The ignition demonstration run was conducted in a manner that simulated immediate launch of the engine from its storage condition. No preliminary cold flow runs were made prior to the first attempt at engine ignition. Engine ignition occurred on increased minimum power fuel schedule at Mach 0.62 during the simulated launch to sonic Mach number. The RJ43-MA-11 engine model specification requires that engine ignition occur before a Mach number 0.80. (Author)
