PRODUCTION ENGINEERING MEASURE FOR A PHASE II SUPER POWER HYDROGEN THYRATRON TUBE.

Abstract

Efforts were continued on the establishment of a PEM for a super power-hydrogen thyratron. Two Phase II tubes were built and processed, and sub-assemblies for two more tubes were made. The principal objectives of this activity were aimed at obtaining more experience in the assembly and processing of the tube and more data on questions of reliability and reproducibility. For fields of application with lower anode heat numbers, an air cooled modification was made and two such tubes were operated successfully in modulators. (Author)
