EXCITATION AND DETECTION TECHNIQUES FOR MILLIMETER WAVE TRANSITIONS.

Abstract

The assembled molecular beam apparatus is described, and calculations are presented on the anticipated beam deflections in a ''flop-out'' arrangement. The status of supporting investigations is presented. Spectroscopic investigations of hydrogen sulfide are discussed. These topics include centrifugal distortion effects, quadrupole coupling of H2S-33, Zeeman effect of H2S, and the Stark effect of H2S. Millimeter wave investigations relevant to the objectives of the contract are reviewed. (Author)
