THE ACOUSTIC AND VIBRATION ENVIRONMENT OF THE TITAN II VEHICLE.

Abstract

The results of the study of a large body of acoustic and vibration data gathered on the Titan II vehicle are reported. Averaged representative levels for various static firing and flight conditions are given, and summary vibration spectra are computed and compared to the vehicle environmental specifications. Sources of bias, such as differences in data acquisition and/or processing equipment and techniques have been evaluated, and the data corrected accordingly. Measures of the reproducibility of data from test to test have been computed. The extent to which vibration data may be scaled from one acoustic environment to another is examined. These analyses were carried out with a unique digital computer system, which is described. (Author)
