SPONTANEOUS SIMIAN GIANT-CELL PNEUMONIA WITH COEXISTENT B-VIRUS INFECTION

Abstract

A morphologic study of three cases of giant-cell pneumonia is presented. These are most interesting in that a coexistent B-virus infection was present in two. A pure case of B-virus infection is included for comparison. The pathogenesis of giant-cell pneumonia is discussed, with emphasis on the lack of clinical evidence of measles. The pathogenesis and pathology of B-virus is also discussed.
