MICRO-MODULE PRODUCTION PROGRAM.

Abstract

Analysis of the moisture resistance problem, inherent in precision multilayer capacitors, was continued by Aerovox and RCA and resulted in isolation and successful prevention of the failure mechanism. The pilot-run test program demonstrated the continued high quality of semiprecision resistor micro-elements produced by Microlectron. Efforts to improve the reliability of the trim seal in Radio Industries trimmer inductors resulted in demonstration of improved processing technique which satisfies sealing requirements and will be used in future assemblies. Investigation of medium-frequency inductors by Collins Radio indicates that TC-3 ferrite parts are not permanently affected by processing temperature. Preliminary test data on 30 samples each, of the 45.1 mc and 11.45 mc crystals, from Midland's preproduction run indicate that these units meet their requirements. The sense amplifiers, digit drivers, and address circuits for the micropae computer met all applicable requirements when tested over the range of -30 C to +90 C. (Author)
