FLUID AMPLIFICATION. 11. STAGING OF PROPORTIONAL AND BISTABLE FLUID AMPLIFIERS,

Abstract

The generalized performance characteristics are examined in detail for both proportional and bistable (digital) fluid amplifiers with no moving parts. An approach leading to the solution of fluid systems design problems is given. Equations describing the pressure and flow variations are developed. Typical performance curves are drawn showing performance trends with several variables manipulated. Experimental curves are presented confirming the theoretical approach. A typical proportional unit, with principal dimensions, is shown with its characteristic curves. (Author)
