COUPLED MODE ENDFIRE RADIATION STRUCTURES.

Abstract

The concept of continous coupling between two lines is used for designing low silhouette endfire antennas. The conditions for efficient radiation are discussed, and the necessary parameters for designing two types of these antennas were measured. One is a dielectric sheet on a ground plane over which a wire is spread, the other is similar but the dielectric sheet is split under the wire into two parts. Two antennas based on these principles were built. (Author)
