PROPAGATION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES IN AN INHOMOGENEOUS MEDIUM.

Abstract

In this summary report the main features of the methods used and the results obtained in the several phases of the subject research are briefly exposed. In particular, the following topics are dealt with: i) phenomenological behavior of non uniform plasma in non-uniform motion (this case being indicative of all other cases considered); ii) modified form of the Saha's equation; iii) influence of ionization non-equilibrium on magneto-acoustic wave propagation; iv) motion of electrons under the action of a pulsating and modulated electric field.
