Abstract

This report is intended to serve as an aid to systems engineers concerned with the performance of microwave communication links. Seven topics are covered. These are summarized in the body of the report, and are developed in more detail in the appendices. The topics are: (1) Output S/N of FM Analog Demodulators, (2) Data Rate Capability for Digital Signals, (3) Frequency Tracking and Acquisition Capability of a PhaseLock Loop, (4) Required One-Second Oscillator Stability for Tracking by Phase-Lock Loop.
