EXTRUDING AND DRAWING MOLYBDENUM TO COMPLEX THIN H-SECTION.
Abstract
Tooling in process will be for the evaluation of various die materials by the extrusion of TZM solid rounds. Zirconia as flame-sprayed deposits and pressed and sintered solid nibs have been given primary consideration as the most promising die material. H-shaped dies then will be prepared on the basis of results obtained. The extrusion of 24 TZM solid rounds has been planned for the initial program activity. Support tooling such as a stem, liner and back-up block are in process and near completion. (Author)
