PISTONS ON CORNERS,

Abstract

In PART A we calculate the acoustic pressure in the far field for a rectangular piston on a rigid corner of any corner angle. Approximate expressions are given for some special cases. In PART B the radiation self-impedance and mutual impedances for rectangular pistons on a rigid corner of any angle are derived and compared with approximate expressions. The resistances are obtained from the pressure in the far field, and the reactances are related to the resistances by the use of the KramerKronig (or dispersion) relations. In PART C we calculate the near field pressure for a circular piston on a right-angled corner. (Author)
