A LEVELING SCHEME FOR AN INERTIAL PLATFORM UTILIZING A DIGITAL ACCELEROMETER,

Abstract

The feasibility of using a pendulous integrating gyro accelerometer with a digital encoder pickoff in a leveling scheme for an inertial platform is studied. A pendulum is suggested to partially level the platform, then a precision servo loop utilizing a horizontal accelerometer will accurately level the platform. An analog computer simulation is made of the overall system and conclusions are drawn from this study. (Author)
