INVESTIGATION OF OPTICAL CROSS-SECTIONS FOR LASER-RADAR

Abstract

Areas for detailed investigation in the field of optical radar with a Laser light source were delineated. The problem of optical reflectivity and depolarization by targets of different shape and materials is considered to be of great importance since the optical cross-section of the target is a primary part of any derived optical radar equation. Analytical and experimental results for the determination of optical crosssection are reported. The numerical determination for an optical radar equation by measurement of other important parameters has been started.
