TECHNIQUE FOR THE FABRICATION OF A DOUBLE WALL SINGLE LAMINATED POROUS ARM SOCKET,

Abstract

A method was developed for fabricating a Porous laminated double wall socket in one piece, which eliminates the need of bonding the inner and outer layers together at the proximal end. This construction results in a stronger bond and eliminates the possibility of distortion of the laminate at the distal end of the inner socket to the wrist unit of the outer socket. The method is applicable to all types of below and above elbow prostheses. (Author)
