PRESENTATION ON PROJECT SURIC PHASE II.

Abstract

Presented are the results of the SURIC program. SURIC - or Surface Ship Integrated Control - is primarily concerned with the development of organizational concepts and control techniques which will improve the performance of surface ships. In essence it is concerned with the effectiveness of command. To complicate the decision making process further, additional factors such as: (l) the mission or task assigned; (2) the status and readiness of weapons and equipment; (3) the limited number of projectiles; (4) the selection of weapon; (5) the tactics, and (6) mmeteorological and sea conditions must be considered to achieve effective command. Recommendations are included. (Author)
