STUDY OF OXIDES FOR O2-N2 SEPARATION.

Abstract

The primary objective of this program is the development of reactant particles suitable for application in a high temperature O2-N2 separation device. During this quarter, a major part of the emphasis was placed on the study and evaluation of oxide systems other than CoO, as a backup for the CoO system. Coated CoO on BeO particles are awaiting testing in a rotary disc separator. Other major portions of the effort during this reporting period were directed toward initiating a program for modification of the CoO system equilibria and reaction rate by the use of additives, and the study and improvement of the physical properties of the particles produced.
