INSERTION LOSS DESIGN OF CRYSTAL FILTERS.

Abstract

This report is concerned with the use of piezoelectric quartz crystals in insertion loss filters. The Cauer approximation is used, based on the Jacobian elliptic functions. Methods for realizing low-pass filters in a lattice or bridged-T form with restrictions are shown. A general method for inserting crystals into symmetric bandpass filters is shown. The minimum inductance transformation and its usefulness are briefly described. The roots of the numerator of the insertion loss function of n=9 lowpass filters with a reflection coefficient of 20% have been calculated on the computer at R.P.I. and are presented. (Author)
