INDUSTRIAL PREPAREDNESS STUDY. LACQUER FILM CAPACITORS.

Abstract

Efforts were continued on a program for the production of lacquer film capacitors. The 1.0 mfd cellulose acetate pilot run testing program is complete. No failures were recorded during the test program. Some difficulty was encountered in producing polycarbonate pilot run samples of the 1.0 mfd capacitor size. Extraneous chlorides have damaged aluminum films when dried at 125 C. A number of capacitors failed because of permanent shorts which developed during the voltage clearing operation. (Author)
