FORCED OSCILLATIONS OF CYLINDRICAL SHELLS,

Abstract

A problem is discussed concerning forced oscillations of circular and noncircular closed cylindrical shells. In the first part is solved the problem of purely bending oscillations, originating under the effect of perturbation forces, normal to the center surface of the shell, whereby tangential inertia forces are not taken into consideration. The basic equations of hollow shells are assumed to be applicable to the given problem. In the second part of the investigation are discussed axially symmetrical oscillations, which may originate only in a circular cylindrical shell. Considered here are not only radial but also tangential inertia forces and perturbation forces. (Author)
