THE FUNCTIONAL TIME DIAGRAM METHOD OF COMMAND AND CONTROL SYSTEM ANALYSIS,

Abstract

The problem of command and control system analysis is to be able to evaluate the performance of large command and control systems in a realistic manner. In the special case of systems which produce information, and where command becomes control depending on the point of view in the hierarchy of the organization, no present technique exists to quantitatively express performance. The FTD functional time diagram method is envisioned to be dynamic in the sense that it may grow through increased vocabulary and the development of ancillary techniques. The proposed method is detailed. (Author)
