RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM INTRINSIC RELIABILITY SUBMINIATURE CERAMIC CAPACITORS.

Abstract

The activation energy for the electrical conduction of nondegraded C67 material was redetermined. A description of procedures followed before the beginning of the large-scale life test is reported. This test will be conducted to determine whether or not the reliability objective sought for the C67 Case Size I capacitor is realistic for the capacitor's present design. A second objective will be to evaluate the efficacy of a DC aging in screening capacitors to eliminate potential early failures. Another possible means of eliminating potential early failures is also reported. (Author)
