POWER DENSE THERMOELECTRIC MODULE. PHASE IV SOLIDIFICATION OF THERMOELECTRIC MATERIALS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ULTRASONIC AGITATION.

Abstract

An ultrasonic agitator, capable of introducing up to 250 watts of power to the solidifying interface of a melt at 900 C or above has been designed and constructed. The equipment, which utilizes a piezoelectric transducer, has been used to determine the effect of frequency, amplitude and rate of solidification on the crystallization of N-type PbTe. Details of the experimental equipment are given along with an account of the results obtained for N-type PbTe. (Author)
