INTERFERENCE APPLIED RESEARCH DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS MAGNETIC FIELD MEASUREMENT TECHNIQUES.

Abstract

A summary of the experimentally verified techniques employed in pickup devices and types of instrumentation equipment available for the measurement of magnetic fields in the frequency range of 1 CPS to 10 GC is presented. Consideration is given to the measurement of the magnetic component of an electromagnetic wave both in the near and far fields. The effect of the measuring device on the unknown field is discussed. Calibration of magnetic component transducers by the generation of standard fields, as is done by the National Bureau of Standards, is presented. A table of instruments currently available for magnetic and/or electromagnetic measurements pertinent to the RFI field of interest is included. A list of carefully screened references, arranged according to author and content, represents a considerable portion of the study and will help to eliminate much redundant research on the part of those interested in further study of this subject.
