CREEP IN THE PRESENCE OF A CONCENTRATED FORCE AT A POINT,

Abstract

The initial investigation in the present paper concerns itself with the problem of creep in an infinitely large plate with a concentrated force taken as a line load along the thickness of the straight boundary. Closed form solutions for stresses and deflections are obtained for for this problem on the basis of a nonlinear creep law. These results are then used to obtain solutions to the problems of a wedge with a concentrated forces at its apex and a V-notch with a concentrated force at its base. (Author)
