PREPARATION AND EVALUATION OF NEW HYDRAULIC FLUIDS.

Abstract

The Simon's cell fluorination method was extended to the synthesis of (C4F9)2SF4. About 20 g of this material is now available. The preparation of perfluoro-s-trithiane dodecafluoride, (CF2SF4)3, by the electrolysis of s-trithiane in hydrogen fluoride is proving to be difficult. A new Simon's cell was designed and is currently being constructed. (Author)
