LONG LIFE K-BAND DUPLEXER.

Abstract

Research was continued on the development of a K-band three-part duplexer with extremely low leakage power characteristics. A decision was made as to the choice of the final limiter to be employed in the duplexer. Work on the ferrite limiter and multipactor limiter was terminated. The technical efforts were directed toward a limiter which will incorporate both the TR tube and semiconductor device. The TR tube will be a long life gas TR to be operated without keepalive voltage. The semiconductor limiter well be either a pin or varactor diode and will follow the TR tube and attenuate the leakage power of the TR tube to the extent where overall limitering of the TR tube and semiconductor limiter meet the contract leakage power and loss requirements.
