PROGRAM 706. TASK 4. MPU BLADDER DEVELOPMENT.

Abstract

Reported is the development and testing of nonmetallic positive expulsion badders to be used in space vehicle propulsion systems utilizing an oxidizer of N2O4 and a fuel of a 50/50 blend of N2H4/UDMH as the propellants. A material sample temperature test program and a full scale bladder temperature expulsion test program have been completed which resulted in the selection and fabrication of bladders for further slosh and vibration testing. The selected configuration is a ''bag-in-bag'' type with a TFE (Tetrafluoroethylene)/FEP-(Fluorinated ethylene propylene) Teflon film combination in each bag. Correlation of material property trends has been established between the material sample and full scale bladder tests. (Author)
