RESPONSE OF LARGE ELASTIC BODIES TO VIBRATORY FORCES ON SMALL AREAS.

Abstract

Two main analytical investigations are reported. The first part was directed toward the formulation of formal solutions for stress and displacement for steady-state input loadings and the comparison of these solutions for equipollent loadings. The second part was directed toward the relationships between the three-dimensional theory and various beam and plate theories for strip-like structures. The intent of this is the establishment of criteria for the use of approximate theories in the analysis of steady-state problems. (Auchor)
