RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ON AN EXPANDABLE FOAMED PLASTIC FIELD HOSPITAL LITTER-BED. PHASE I.

Abstract

The feasibility of an expanded plastic foamed-inplace field hospital Litter-bed was demonstrated. A suitable method of shape control proved successful. A satisfactory support harness was developed for manual carrying and patient immobilization. The Litter-Beds were human engineered to accomodate the 99th percentile of military personnel. The unexpanded unit is encased within a quickrelease, relatively small, easily stored package, capable of withstanding a wide range of storage and delivery modes. (Author)
